The Hospitality and Gaming Study Addition is a 23,800 square foot addition to the Atlantic City campus building. The addition is located at the Southern corner of the existing Building and connects to the existing two-story structure on both levels.
A 2-story sky-lit atrium corridor separates the addition from the existing building and provides daylight to the existing building windows that abut the Addition.
Entry to the Hospitality Center is through the building main entrance and is connected by an angled glass enclosed indoor street that also brings daylight to the existing student dining room.
The first floor houses the Casino Career Institute. This includes instruction in Casino Table Games. 21, Roulette, Craps and Backgammon. It also houses a large Slot & Vending Machine repair instructional area. Also included are related offices and storage. A new receiving area and elevator serves both the Addition and the existing Building.
The Second Level contains 2 large teaching kitchens staffed by the ACCC Culinary Institute professionals, state of the art computer assisted classrooms and a pastry/coffee shop that will be staffed by students. Facility offices and a student informal study/gathering lobby is also provided.
The design includes an energy saving white roof and a greenhouse where students can grow herbs and vegetables, and instruction can take place on organic gardening.
Exterior design relates to the color scheme of the existing facility. The building focuses on sustainable design that is economical. Kitchen design and equipment will promote water efficiencies, waste reduction and waste recycling. Sustainable furnishings and building materials are also incorporated.
